Utility Scale Solar

Utility scale solar uses the same technology as rooftop solar – just on a bigger scale and possibly with the addition of some simple electric motors allowing the panels to track the sun. The output is sold to the local distribution monopolies at fixed rates for contract periods of 20-25 years.

While emerging economies in Southeast Asia are increasingly trying to attract private investment into renewable electricity generation because of budget constraints and financing difficulties in coal generation, it can be difficult for international investors to seize these opportunities because of the opacity of the markets and the lack of information.

Etervis is on the ground in major Southeast Asian economies where we actively engage with market participants.

Solar panels can be mounted either on land or on floating vessels located on large bodies or water e.g. reservoirs for hydro power. Private landowners may also consider leasing their land for solar panels.
